RECENT PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS --

December 2011 -- One of the highlights of my holiday season was a performance of my Christmas concert, "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year", for an apreciative audience in the magnificent concert hall at Steinway Piano Gallery of Milwaukee (possibly the city's best-kept secret as far as acoustically fabulous places to sing and play a glorious piano!).

November 2011 -- Vernon Hills (IL) Area Public LIbrary District presented my Veterans Day tribute concert of Big Band and Swing Era standards plus patriotic songs. A large audience of veterans and area residents enjoyed the show and I really enjoyed the library's beautiful piano!!

August 2011 -- Patio Pops concert sponsored by Milwaukee Catholic Home -- a trio concert on a beautiful late summer evening featuring me on piano and vocals along with vocalist Jeanne Scherkenbach and violinist Pamela Foard. We had a full house and the audience enjoyed Broadway and light classical selections.

July 2011 -- Broadway Theatre Center Open House in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward. I performed a 45-min. solo set for a very enthusiastic audience in the Skylight Bar.

June 2011 -- "Music and More" summer concert series at First Presbyterian Church in Racine, WI -- duo with violinist Gina Wood performing highlights from our full-length concert of famous songs from the movies.

June 2010 -- Skokie Theatre Music Foundation presented "VOICE OF AMERICA: Saluting American Popular Music during the Wartime Years", a patriotic revue featuring vocalists Jeanne Scherkenbach, Joel Kopischke, Rachel Renee, Matt Richardson and me (performer and musical director) singing favorite songs from World Wars I and II, the Korean and Vietnam years and Operation Desert Storm. Songs included "You're a Grand Old Flag", "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", "I'll Be Seeing You", "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" and many more -- and ChicagoCritic.com said "Pianist/singer Carolyn Wehner brings music and a fine voice to the show."

March 2010 -- Davenport's Piano Bar and Cabaret, Chicago -- "Be Our Guest", the final installment of the annual Chicago Cabaret Professionals March Series highilighted the best of Broadway from 1980 to the present. Shared the stage with Anne & Mark Burnell, Paul Motondo and Tommy Hensel; a very enthusiastic sold-out house enjoyed songs from Beauty and the Beast, The Producers, Avenue Q, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Assassins and more.

December 2009 -- Davenport's Piano Bar and Cabaret, Chicago -- "Merry Measures", Chicago Cabaret Professionals' annual two-night benefit show for childrens' charities. I got to perform one of my favorite Christmas novelty numbers, "The Merry Christmas Polka". Show proceeds benefited Teen Living Programs and Save The Children.

October 2009 -- Park West Theatre, Chicago -- Chicago Cabaret Professionals Annual Gala Benefit Concert, "Put On Your Sunday Clothes", a celebration of the best of Chicago cabaret. I did a set during the cocktail hour show, joined by vocalist Pam Peterson on our arrangement of the Stevie Wonder classic, "Don't You Worry 'bout a Thing".

September 2009 - Drury Lane Theatre at Water Tower Place, Chicago -- "Let's Do It With Cole Porter", my second appearance on the critically acclaimed Musical Mondays on the Magnificent Mile cabaret series. A marvelous evening of elegant music, performing along with Anne & Mark Burnell, Joan Curto, Jen Chada and Rob Lindley.

July 2009 -- Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers -- Violinist Gina Wood and I provided the music for the annual suiteholders reception in the Lambeau Field Atrium. Always a fun event!

June 2008 -- It was definitely "Stormy Weather" outside, so that was my first song on Saturday June 7 at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts annual gala, "Shakin' Up the Standards". The arts center in Brookfield, Wisconsin featured black-tie elegance and great music all evening, and I contributed my very best Cole Porter and Gershwin in a piano-bar setting where guests were welcome to step up to the mic and croon a favorite standard or two during the cocktail hour. I also got to meet New York cabaret great Mark Nadler who gamely performed in the tent during dinner with Mother Nature's percussion and light show continuing outside. The show must go on!!
