Carolyn Wehner is a Milwaukee-based pianist and vocalist performing regularly throughout Wisconsin and the greater Chicagoland area. Beginning with her first professional appearances with Milwaukee's Skylight Opera Theatre, she initially pursued a career as a classical vocalist, receiving her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her piano studies began at age five, and along the way she was encouraged to blend the two abilities into the singer/pianist niche she now happily occupies, specializing in the music of the Great American Songbook. An active member of Chicago Cabaret Professionals, frequent concert and cabaret dates as well as numerous public and private engagements round out her calendar. Highlights from 2006 include an appearance at the Palm Court in Chicago's Drake Hotel in May, an April show at Davenport's Piano Bar and Cabaret, also in Chicago, and a jazz duo appearance with frequent collaborator, violinist Gina Wood, at Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, in July. Carolyn has worked as a professional musician for over 20 years and in 2002, she achieved a goal that many musicians aspire to - launching her own full-time business as a performer, arranger and music director. Prior to that, she gained valuable business experience as a longtime corporate executive assistant while simultaneously maintaining a full performance schedule. As a result, she brings a unique combination of beautiful music, exceptional customer service skills and "real world" know-how to every engagement.
